Best Communications Equipment Stocks To Own For 2014

Every week, I look at three companies that beat market expectations, since I think that's the biggest factor in a stock's ability to beat the market. Leaving Wall Street's pros stunned usually means the companies have more in the tank than the analysts figured, and capital appreciation typically follows.

Let's look at a few companies that humbled the pros over the past few trading days.

We can start with Tsakos Energy Navigation Limited (NYSE: TNP  ) . Shares of the energy transporter moved 27% higher last week after surprising the market with a quarterly profit. Business isn't great at Tsakos. Revenue dipped slightly during the period, and a profit of $0.02 a share may not turn heads. However, analysts were bracing for a loss of $0.08 a share on a sharper decline in revenue.

Marvell Technology (NASDAQ: MRVL  ) also landed on top. Analysts weren't holding out for much here, either. They saw revenue and earnings per share sliding 9% and 39%, respectively, for the maker of mobile communications equipment. After posting eight straight quarterly declines in year-over-year profitability, there was little reason to see that streak ending on Thursday.

Motorola Solutions offers a portfolio of devices, infrastructure, applications and services, which include rugged and enterprise-grade mobile computers and tablets, laser/imager/RFID based data capture devices and kiosks, WLAN switches/controllers and access points, network and device management software, network and device security software, voice-based devices and software, and systems based iDEN technology.

The Company competes with Apple, Aruba, Bluebird, Cisco, Datalogic, Honeywell, Hewlett Packard, Intermec, Psion, Panasonic and Samsung.

    To its credit, GTAT did announce this week that Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI  ) has chosen GT Crystal Systems as the exclusive supplier of 24-square-inch sapphire scan windows for Motorola's new MP6000 multi-plane bioptic imagers (think barcode scanners at the grocery store). That's certainly a suitable place for GTAT's scratch-resistant sapphire to find a home, but it's not exactly the big win investors were hoping for.�

    The third quarter 2014�earnings report for network communication platform maker�Ubiquiti Networks Inc (NASDAQ: UBNT), a peer of small cap stocks�Aviat Networks Inc (NASDAQ: AVNW), Ceragon Networks Ltd (NASDAQ: CRNT) and�DragonWave, Inc (NASDAQ: DRWI), is due out after the market closes on Thursday with shares already trending upwards as they closed 4.08% higher on Tuesday. Aside from the Ubiquiti Networks earnings report, it should be said that Aviat Networks Inc reported earnings yesterday after the market closed (shares were sinking hard in after hours trading); Ceragon Networks Ltd will report earnings before the market opens on Thursday; and DragonWave, Inc is scheduled to report after the market closes next Wednesday. So it�� a busy week for network communications stocks.

    Procter & Gamble Co (NYSE: PG) reported a better-than-expected second-quarter net profit. Procter & Gamble's quarterly profit declined to $3.43 billion, or $1.18 per share, from a year-ago profit of $4.06 billion, or $1.39 per share. Its core earnings fell to $1.21 per share. Its sales came in at $22.28 billion versus $22.18 billion. However, analysts were projecting earnings of $1.20 per share on sales of $22.36 billion. Equities Trading UP
    Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) shot up 7.04 percent to $27.85 after the company reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter results. Barclays upgraded the stock from Equalweight to Overweight and lifted the price target from $29.00 to $34.00. Shares of Ariad Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ARIA) were up as well, gaining a staggering 21.68 percent to $9.14 as rumours of a takeover from a major pharma name swirled around the street. Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) was also up, gaining 2.66 percent to $37.01 after the company reported stronger-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results. Credit Suisse raised the price target on the stock from $40.00 to $42.50.

On-site project assessment include complete review of content sources, existing systems and middleware to determine the proper interface and adaptation equipment necessary for its customer to deliver an optimized consumer quality of experience. Systems integration configures all the equipment with its solution according to network design and plan. On-site delivery install all equipment and test the operational environment, including redundancy and system monitoring, as well as administer technical training to validate predefined use cases in an operational environment. Operational and customer support provides different grades of service level agreements and support contracts according to requirements.
